THE HIDDEN FACTOR TO THE CAUSES OF HIGH LEVEL OF UNEMPLOYMENT AND ITS POSSIBLE ESCAPE ROUTE: A CASE OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA

Following the issue of the recent and uncontrollable rise in job search, how it has highly risen beyond measure as the jobs available are less than the population seeking for the job.

As at 2016 the level of unemployment has gone so bad in Nigeria that, statistics reveal that unemployment rate has risen from 13.3 per cent in the 2nd quarter to 13.9 per cent in the 3rd quarter of 2016. As at 2017, Google trend also shows that the level and the percentage of job search on the internet has risen to about 89% job seekers looking for a job on the internet.
The challenging question running through the mind of people is that are there no jobs available, could the recession be a limiting factor which has affected organization to retrench and cut corners in order to save cost to meet up with the market demand in order not to run at a lose?. What really could be the factor to this; could it be the recent rise in the population leading to high seekers in the labour force, company folding up, economical factor, unavailability of required skill to meet up to job demands by employees? Etc.

There could be more unraveling factor to the causes of high rate of unemployment in a country like Nigeria. Tackling this challenges will be difficult unless this factor is been traced, discovered and tackled before there can be a victory won for the level of unemployment in any country like Nigeria. This research thesis has done some little justice to those hidden factor of the high level of unemployment and possible solution to eradicate if not completely but at a positive level of percentage.
